Still Becoming

€800.00

I have drifted through currents, reshaped by time, molded by forces unseen. I have searched in reflections, in whispers beneath the surface, in the spaces between what was and what could be. And now, I arrive here. Still. Grounded. Whole.

This piece is not just an image—it is a feeling, a recognition of self. Inspired by the Dawki River, where the water is so clear it seems to disappear, leaving only the sculpted rocks beneath, this painting is a reflection of that quiet revelation. The moment when you realize you are no longer searching—you have arrived. The roots, strong and twisting, tell the story of endurance, of growth shaped by unseen currents. The water, pooled yet endless, mirrors the depth within, the clarity of knowing. It is still, yet alive. It does not rush—it simply exists. And in that existence, it is enough.

This is me. And perhaps, in this stillness, you will find a glimpse of you

The Artistry Behind the Self
This piece is not just painted—it is sculpted, shaped by hand from the very foundation. The entire surface was carved directly onto the canvas using white cement, each rock-like form molded with intention, capturing the natural erosion and shaping seen in real landscapes. Every ridge and curve mimics the way time and water sculpt stone, an echo of nature’s patient artistry.

Once the form was complete, layers of acrylic paint were applied meticulously, bringing out the depth and shadows of the rocks, making them feel as though they have existed for centuries. The water, a transparent resin pour, was manipulated while it was still settling, creating subtle ripples and waves—just like the gentle movement of water over stone. Light interacts with the resin, shifting reflections and depths, making it feel as though the surface is truly alive.

This is more than a painting. It is a piece of the earth, a fragment of a river’s memory, a reflection of the journey that led to this moment. Still, yet ever-moving. Formed, yet forever evolving.
